Quality Assurance Engineer

Xtranormal is looking for full-time quality assurance engineers to join our great team in San Francisco. This position will get first shot at working with our new product features and at providing feedback on how things can be improved. Our QA Engineer will work with developers, customer support, and product teams to ensure a great experience for customers of our storytelling and 3D animation products.

The ideal QA candidate will have previous experience in testing software, web sites, or games. You should speak with a strong voice of the customer both experienced and new. Acting as a gatekeeper and coordinator for the engineering team, you will identify and reproduce issues and use our ticket system to coordinate with appropriate teammates. We have web, mobile, and desktop products we provide so the QA work is varied and filled with 3D animated, speaking characters!

Responsibilities:

  • Review new features in detail to report on the usability and correctness of development work
  • Identify regressions, interactions, and reproduction of bugs. Verify and signoff on fixes.
  • Report issues to our bug tracker and work with developers to resolve issues
  • Improve automation of QA whenever possible, and support continuous integration mechanisms as needed

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of QA experience
  • "Power user" skills and familiarity with multiple browsers, common web technology, and modern site design
  • Experience participating in an engineering team, with usage of ticket trackers, web documentation tools, and change control
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Bonus for significant skills in a few of the following: HTML/CSS/JavaScript, mobile platforms, Mac/Windows/Linux, Unix or Windows shell scripting, JavaScript testing, video animation/rendering
